The Super Delicious, Ever Nutritious Pregnancy Shake
(adapted from the book, Staying Healthy with Nutrition, by Elson M. Haas MD)

Let me just preface by saying that when I first found this recipe, I wasn't even pregnant yet, but made it apart of my daily routine.  Being that I don't eat meat or dairy (and didn't through my pregnancy) this shake helped me make sure I was getting my Omega 3s, B vitamins and Calcium.  It doesn't hurt that it tastes really good, too.  It's also a sneaky way to get your little ones those same vitamins as well. 

Blend together:

1/2-1 C Fruit Juice (I used whatever I had in the fridge)
1-2 tsp Blackstrap Molasses
1 Banana (sometimes I would also add berries)
1-2 tsp Nutritional Yeast
1/2-1 C Yogurt (I used plain coconut yogurt)
1 TBSP Wheat Germ or Flaxmeal (I usually added both)
1-2 TBSP Honey, Agave or Pure Maple Syrup
1/2-1 C Milk ( I used almond, coconut or hemp)
1/2 tsp Powdered Kelp (great source of iodine)
